Thailand has many airports, some of which are domestic, although many handle international flights. The more airports a country has, the more important it becomes to work out which one is best for us to book a flight to when we travel.
There are many ways to prepare for a long flight. Here, though, we will focus on some of the best airports to fly into, and why we should consider them.
Don Mueang International Airport
Over 100 years old, this airport welcomes many flights to Thailand each week. It is situated just to the north of Bangkok, so if we wish to explore this famous city, this airport is the one to fly into. It will take no more than an hour to travel into the city once we leave the airport, giving us more time to explore once we are there.
Phuket International Airport
Many flights to Thailand approach and land at Phuket International Airport. Phuket is both a province and an island, joined to the mainland by the Sarasin Bridge. If we are considering holidaying in Phuket, landing at this airport is by far the best option. It is situated towards the north of the island, but there is easy access to the southern areas and beaches via road travel.
Udon Thani International Airport
Located towards the northeast of the country, this airport gives us the chance to land close to the city of Udon Thani. Connecting flights are available, making it possible to take flights to Thailand that land at this airport. Its proximity to the Mekong River makes it a good choice if we wish to visit that area.
One of these international airports could well be the best choice for our next trip to Thailand. Picking the right one will help our holiday begin in the best way.
